The .package format was used by Maxis as a large compression (like .zip .rar or .7z). Inside the packages are loads of folders and files that code aspects of the game, mostly in XML, but some other languages are contained too. If you're interested, you can see the source to SporeMaster (which unpacks the .package, but written in C#):

Hmm. I'll need a modder to confirm this, but I believe GA is required for all mods to work past patch 1.3.

I'd say to stick through with school (unless you can find a guaranteed job with good pay that will accept you). People tend to respect you more if you have finished education and it could give you a wider set of opportunities in the future.

They are the files from Spore Creature Creator. I'm not actually sure why he put them into the data folder...

Mach Studio Pro v2 is a 3D production and rendering app for Windows.  Which basically means that, having created your animation and specified where the light is coming from, the program adjusts every frame of your movie to create the desired effects.  OK, it actually does a lot more than that, but you get the basic idea.

Typically, such programs are used in big-budget productions on very powerful computers.  Which is why the software itself is rarely cheap.  Until now.

Studio GPU, the company behind Mach Studio Pro, has decided that it wants to "shake up the market".  And so, a couple of weeks ago, it reduced the price of its product from $3,999 to $0.  Yup, the full program is now freeware.

While it's tempting to try out the program for the sheer fun of playing with something that used to cost $4,000, be aware that you'll need a pretty fast PC and graphics card to make the most of it.  And with the download running to some 504 MB, you'll need an internet connection that can cope.

I just saw this, and thought some people here might like a go at it. Considering the price drop, I think it's a great deal.

Awesome!  There was no readme, so I can't give credit for this...  but..  I hope you guys find it useful.

I've already removed the duplicates from the mod archive, I'm now working on the readme file. I can get things done so much quicker now without having any real work to do for 3 months... Just contact me if you need anything.

Personally, if you really want to do this, I'd put it up to about 10. I've tried different amounts before and not had any problems with crashing or lag. However, there is the problem of the Grox - you'll notice that when you head towards the Galactic Core there will now be HUNDREDS of Grox colonies (on average, they have a colony on half of the planets in a system).

Is this test proof? I tried a"new version of sporemaser" and it messed up mah sistem. I think it was a virus but never mind, my question is is it like safe?

Sure, it's safe.

It's nice Bitle, but you could experiment with GUI on it. Try testing the 'anchor' properties to fix the issue with changing the form size - it'll make sure the buttons and pictures move too.

Have a go at using other things such as tab control, table layouts, combo boxes, etc. You're doing well at programming, and I'm sure that with practise you'll be able to make some more complex systems, and remember -  we're here to help if you need any. Wink

I can sympathise with you, as one of mine passed away last month too. You should try not to remember the sadness of his death, but instead think of the positives. The memories you want to have are him will be happy times, and take a moment to look back on his life in good light. If he died of natural causes, then understand that it was the best way for him to go.
